Meet Dr. Jeremy Kieval, M.D.

Dr. Jeremy Kieval is an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in the field of corneal disease and transplants, refractive cataract surgery, and laser vision correction such as LASIK and PRK. He serves the Greater Boston area from offices in Lexington and Concord and is a full-time member of Lexington Eye Associates.

Dr. Kieval was born in the Boston area. After obtaining his undergraduate degree from Emory University, he spent several years performing medical research at Emory University. Dr. Kieval then went on to Boston University School of Medicine where he graduated cum laude and received the Boston University Award for Outstanding Contributions. He then went on to complete his residency in Ophthalmology at the Boston Medical Center, and was selected to serve as the Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. Dr. Kieval completed his subspecialty training with a fellowship in Cornea, Refractive Surgery, and External Disease at the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has been ranked as the #1 eye hospital in the country for 5 consecutive years by the US News and World Report Magazine. In 2008, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute was also named the #1 eye hospital in the country by AARP The Magazine.

Dr. Kieval has lectured and presented his research extensively at national and international meetings. He has authored numerous publications and contributed to text books in the field of ophthalmology, as well as the field of neuroscience. He is dedicated to using cutting edge technology and advanced surgical techniques to provide exceptional care for his patients. Dr. Kieval's personal interests include corneal transplants and DSAEK surgery, laser vision correction, and complex intraocular lens surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Kieval lives in the Lexington area with his wife and two children. He is an avid tennis player, and enjoys scuba diving and cooking.
